About foamFUN.com I started to work with foam more than 10 years ago. My husband traveled a lot and we had to move quite often. Most of the time we ended up in apartment buildings which are plain and unpersonal. I was also pregnant at that time and if you have children you will know that preparing the baby room for your arriving loved one is very exciting, but due to the frequent moves my options were quite limited. I couldn't use color on the wall or borders or carpeting because unfortunately you can't take it with you. Colorful pictures would have been an possibility but they can get expensive, they are difficult to move also, and they leave many holes behind. So I decided to cut my own shapes and patterns out of colored paper. I attached it to the wall with doublesided tape, which doesn't leave any marks when you take it down. I was very satisfied with the design, just the paper material was not prefect. It tears and rips apart very easily and when my son Andrew took a bath with laughs and splashes the paper was soaking wet and came down the wall. I went on to search for a more appropriate material. My mom is a kindergarten teacher and she told me, that they use foam a lot to work with children. I gave it a try. First, I was frustrated because it is different to cut than paper. But I learned to work with it and to love it. Foam is a wonderful crafting material. It is non-toxic, inexpensive, durable, waterproof and available in a wide variety of colors. It can be used for decorating for seasons, children toys, greeting cards, and even an entire room. Today I use it for almost everything. Even my three year old son likes to do little craftprojects with it. Good luck with your projects and don't
give up if it doesn't work out the first time. Your efforts will pay off at last. |
